Data Analysis on unforgettable.me: Preprocessing Your Data
In the previous tutorials, we discussed how to navigate to projects, to generate descriptive statistics and how to preprocess the data in preparation for analysis. In this tutorial, we will describe how to conduct a analysis.
A analysis is appropriate when you have a table of counts of categorical variables and you want to know if there is dependence between the variables.
Suppose you wish to see if there is a relationship between ethnicity and gender. Navigate to Demo Project (Event Segmentation Project V2). Now click on the CHi2 button to create a new analysis. Select __USurveyDemographic__Ethnicity and __USurveyDemographic__Gender from "Select From" and click the arrow to move them to "Selected".
Now if you press Update you will see the following report:
You see a table of the frequencies, followed by the statistics. In this case, there is no evidence of a relationship although the sample is small, so one would not want to place too much faith in these results. In particular, the rule of thumb when using a analysis is that you should have at least 5 observations in each cell.
Currently the analysis interface only provides statistics when you specify at least two variables. However, it will give you the frequency table nonetheless:
That's it for the analysis.
